DONNA UCHIZONO

The Donna Uchizono Company will perform on Thursday to Saturday, Oct. 18-20, at 8 p.m. at ODC Theater, 3153 17th St. at Shotwell Street, San Francisco.

“The Bay Area has been waiting decades to see the extraordinary Donna Uchizono Company. The time has come,” said an ODC spokesperson. “Set to an original score by iconic composer Fred Frith, ‘Thin Air’ explores concepts of physical and virtual reality, quantum physics, and the Buddhist concept of ‘emptiness.’ ”

The New York Times has called the dance group “brilliantly imaginative.”

“Thin Air” is a national co-commission of ODC Theater with partners Dance Theater Workshop in New York, and Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.

Admission is $25 general, $20 in advance, $18 for seniors, students and children 12 and under. A free reception will follow each performance.

For more information, contact the box office at (415) 863-9834 between 2 and 5 p.m.
