JOHN SINGER

BERKELEY — “Blowing Zen,” a performance of shakuhachi by master flutist John Singer, will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 2727 College Ave. (near Derby).

Singer will be joined by Yoko Hirano Itatani performing on the koto. This evening of Zen and traditional Japanese ensemble pieces will feature rare historical shakuhachi.
